This month, our Digital Content Coordinator Beth will be taking on a 10k in order to raise funds for Services For Education, encouraging others to donate or even become a Team SFE member themselves
Back in May we chatted to Beth to find out what encouraged her to sign up for the challenge, as well as how she plans to prepare for her upcoming running journey, which you can read more about here
With just two weeks to go, we’re catching up with Beth to find out how her training is going ahead of the race
So Beth, it’s just two weeks to go until your big run now, how are you feeling?
Two weeks! Where has the time gone? It’s safe to say the race has rolled around quickly.
I’ve been keeping up with my regular weekly runs since we caught up back in May, and I’m feeling excited for the race ahead.
There’s nothing like the endorphin hit you get at the end of a run – it’s definitely what’s been getting me through training over the past few months
Have you set yourself a target finish time for your 10k?
If I can complete the race in 70 minutes or under, I’ll be pleased – my training’s been going well, so I’m optimistic I’ll be able to smash my target (fingers crossed!).
How’s your fundraising going?
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve reached my target of £100, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the support people have shown.
Every penny raised will go towards helping SFE deliver their community based projects, having a real impact on the lives of young people across the city.
I’d like to say a huge thank you to each and every person who has supported me in the run up to the race, it really makes such a huge difference – thank you
Here’s to the 21st!
