SFE Secure £3,000 Unrestricted Donation from The Barratt Foundation

Back in September, our Fundraising Manager Sarah took a call from Amanda, the Community Champion at Barratt Homes West Midlands.

Amanda called to say that SFE had been nominated for the December round of the Barratt Foundation’s Grants Committee but would like a bit more information about SFE and the work we do – which Sarah happily provided.

Fast forward to late November and we received an email to say we had been approved for a £3,000, unrestricted donation – which was wonderful news! In early December, Sarah visited The Elms, a local Barratt Homes site to meet Sales Advisor Kevin and Site Manager Bob to discuss the donation and have a photo with a big green cheque to celebrate.

To receive an unrestricted donation is fantastic as it can be directed where it’s needed; donations like this really do impact our work and can be the difference between a project happening or not, enabling us to reach as many people as possible.

As a charity, donations are obviously important to us, but it’s not only the financial aspect which means something. Having a respected business such as Barratt Homes see and value the work we do also allows us to reach new people and spread the word about our work as a charity.

Moving forward, we are looking forward to meeting with Amanda and the team in the New Year to discuss other ways we can work together and welcome some Barratt Homes employees to some of our events and concerts.
